Angola: Kuduro Singer Própria Lixa Dies
The singer Própria Lixa, one of the most renowned names of Angola’s young generation music genre Kuduro, died last Monday of an illness, in Luanda, at the age of thirty.
According to relatives of the late singer, she was suffering from pott disease.
Própria Lixa was one of the most sought after female artists in the Angolan music scene.
She was born Stela Fraio Lima, in 1985, in Luanda Province.
Her last album entitled “Tremura” is one of the main references of the Kuduro music genre, with hits like Sabaló (Tremura), Dança do Zongoló and Udam.
She had the opportunity to share the stage with renowned Angolan artists, such as Anselmo Ralph, Big Nelo, Noite e Dia, among others.
She released two albums, namely “Babula é dela” and “Tremura“.
